How to Get Everything in Life You’ve Ever Wanted and More
Chapters 1
Positive Thinking: It’s More Powerful Than You Think!
Unless you’ve been living in complete isolation for the past 50 years without ever hearing about positive thinking or the law of attraction, you’ve definitely heard of them at some point. To put it more precisely, your own positive ideas and beliefs may alter the outer factors that appear uncontrollable, and your attitude will directly affect what occurs in your life, and this is the central principle. There are as many advocates of positive thinking as there are skeptics who dismiss it as New Age pop psychology claptrap or simplistic fairy tales.
As It Turns Out, They’re All Right!
Positive thinking is, thus, a set of beliefs. Therefore, if you believe it does not function, it will not work. And if you believe that it works, well, you get the point. Positive thinking is like attempting to find a job after high school for nonbelievers. You need the experience to obtain employment, but you need employment to gain experience. It might be tough to choose where one should begin. As with any other activity, though, the key to making positive thinking effective is to start small. Make mental investments, and then watch as those investments become larger and more potent than you could have dreamed. Whether you are a “believer” or not, positive thinking has tangible consequences; the facts don’t lie.
The pioneer of positive thinking, Norman Vincent Peale, reportedly remarked, “If you have zest and enthusiasm, you will attract zest and enthusiasm. Life reciprocates in kind.” This is the core of a positive mental attitude. It is less of a theory than a contagious sickness. As rapidly as anger and negativity move from person to person, so do laughter and happiness; however, positive emotions spread far quicker. Consider: have you ever seen that making a joke is the quickest method to diffuse a stressful situation? As soon as someone laughs or grins, a sensation of comfort spreads across the surrounding area. Even if the aggrieved parties do not feel better, they are able to discuss the issue in a dispassionate and objective manner and go on with their life, rather than lingering on the negative. Solo drivers who are cut off in traffic tend to remain enraged for the remainder of their commute, as there is no one else nearby to give out positive vibes and relieve the stress. Makes logical, doesn’t it?
